AGM Meeting: The meeting will begin at 1:30 pm. There will be at least one vacancy on the Board. Speak with any Board member for more information about serving on the Board. Also, consider stopping by for all or some of the August Board meeting (Aug. 13, 6:30 pm, Town Hall) to get a sense of the Board’s work.
Scanning Family Archives: After the AGM, we’ll have a short presentation / demonstration on how to preserve family photos and printed materials using a smart phone or scanner.
WIHS Website and Facebook Page
Board member Shauna Kingstone has been updating the Historical Society’s website. Be sure to take a look (https://wolfeislandhistoricalsociety.org) and also visit our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/wolfeislandhistory/).
Filming Opportunities
At the June Board meeting, we had a short presentation by the Kingston Film Office - designed to attract and support major film and television production in the greater Kingston area. If you are interested in having your home or property considered for such filming, we will have information available at the Museum and at our Sunday afternoon Speaker Series presentations.
Volunteer Opportunities
All of our activities happen because of dedicated volunteers. Some tasks are short and occasional (such as helping out at special events or Speaker Series events); others take more time and are spread over several months (such as creating and publishing the Windword).
We can always use more volunteers!!!
Contact Shauna Kingstone for further information. 613-583-1023 hennpenn10@gmail.com
